Looking at Kijima from the outside, you would think he would be a normal kid, as grew up in a respected, upper class family. His parents are both psychiatrists, even though they are currently divorced. When Kijima does go home, it’s often to his dad’s as his mom lives one town over. However, he holds no love for his father, referring to him as “father” to keep a cold distance. He has little to no contact to his mother. Because of this, Kijima has a very warped sense of relationships. However, he does love his little sister, Shuuna, very much, and is one of the few people who sees his true smile on a regular business. The other person would be Masato, a little boy his dad is taking care of. Kijima holds the young boy very dear, and will not let anybody or anything harm the child. Their relationship is still very unclear at this point in time.

Kijima always had a knack for being able to predict things, although they weren’t necessarily visions. When he was a little kid, he would often sneak off to the occult shop, and almost always come back with some sort of trinket. When he was eight years old, he had a nasty dream of his Aunt dying in a car crash. Because of the foreboding feeling, the young boy told his Aunt, and she didn’t go out to the street that day. Unfortunately, that very day, her house had burned down in an unfortunate case of arson. After that, Kijima had put his focus into his tarot readings, realizing that he never had to use a book and understood the meanings and connections quite clearly. His predictions so far have never ever been wrong.

His hypnotism didn’t develop until just before he enrolled in Meillure Academy, when he was ten years old. Kijima discovered this power when being bullied by the older kids at his school for having an unusual attraction to the occult. Looking up at them, something turned on within Kijima, and he told them to go and pick on someone their own size. What happened then? The kids went over and started to tease and jostle a teacher that happened to be monitoring that playground. Needless to say, that didn’t go over well with Kijima’s father when he found out.

His father found Meillure Academy fit for controlling Kijima’s powers. Kijima has just gotten past all the loopholes, and hardly anybody knows about his hypnotism. He prefers to pretend that tarot reading is his major power, even if his hypnotism is stronger. What Kijima doesn’t realize is that the hypnotism twists his warped personality even further. While it’s not strong enough to create a dual personality, it does warp his sense of thinking that he is in control of it, when really, his hypnotism acts on his wants and desires. When Kijima refuses to use this power, a burning headache forms, and if anyone chanced to look into his eyes, they would be paralyzed on the spot. It also causes him to pass out frequently. Only Hokuto Umeda has witnessed his effect, and Kijima has been hospitalized for it, although no one has been able to pinpoint why exactly that happens.

Kijima is not a nice person. At all. Despite everybody thinking how he is such a great person, Kijima thinks that they are all idiots and often thinks they should go to hell. Kijima had been smoking since he was eleven, and lost his virginity by thirteen just for the hell of it. Kijima doesn’t ever waste his time on people that don’t interest him. Some people have managed to worm past his barriers and seen the true him; a scared little boy who really has no idea what he wants in life.

Relationships
Cordelia Chase: Cordelia is the closest thing you could call a girlfriend, though the pair don’t refer themselves as such. Kijima met her when Shuuna, his younger sister, went to comfort her during the Midwinter’s Dance as she just recently broke up with Izumi Sano. With his sisters meddling, they started to talk more, until they eventually slept together on New Years. While it was supposed to be one time, it eventually turned into screw buddies…and they fell for each other. However, neither of them feel to label their relationship, and are comfortable with where they are at.

Hokuto Umeda: This Aoi boy is Ryouichi’s best friend. They’ve been going to school together since their first year. When Umeda became friends with Kijima, the boy was surprised at how quickly the Aoi boy figured him out. While Kijima had known for a long while that Umeda was in love with him, he was too twisted to realize that he, too, loved the boy back. He does think Umeda is ‘his’, and often thinks of him as just a game. He thinks he’s the ‘puppet master’ to Umeda’s heart, and jerks him around just for the hell of it. He is also the one that pushed Umeda to go after Akiha, despite this. When he realized what he was missing, the boy tried to twist jealousy around to split the couple apart. They’re getting along better than ever now, but they haven’t talked in a while.

Akiha Hara: Kijima has always been annoyed by the over-active blonde, even though he was the one that pushed him and Umeda together. Kijima thinks the boy is absolutely worthless, but after every tarot reading point towards the two of them together, Kijima figured it was better to not screw with fate and get them together. He does get very jealous of the boy at times, and has no qualms about messing with his mind. Despite this, he was surprised when Akiha got him some presents from vacation when he was in the hospital. Kijima, somehow though, can easily see where Akiha comes from when Umeda comes to him for help on the relationship.
